Cancún's Hotel Zone is a 14-mile strip of beach resorts along the Caribbean — and resort accessibility is generally strong. Major all-inclusive resorts have accessible rooms, pool lifts, and beach wheelchair access. The turquoise water and white sand beaches are Cancún's main draw. Outside the hotel zone, Chichén Itzá (accessible day trip), Tulum ruins (partially accessible), and cenotes offer incredible Mayan culture and natural beauty. The Hotel Zone has a flat sidewalk/path running its entire length.
Getting Around
Hotel Zone
Most resorts provide shuttle service. The R-1 and R-2 buses run the length of the Hotel Zone and are somewhat accessible. Taxis and Uber are widely available. The Hotel Zone is flat and the main path along the lagoon side is paved.
Day Trips
Chichén Itzá, Tulum, and cenotes require arranged transport. Book accessible tour vans through your resort or tour operators. The drives are 2-3 hours each way but the destinations are extraordinary.

🏛️ Chichén Itzá
One of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The main pyramid (El Castillo) is viewable from flat ground. The Great Ball Court and other structures are on relatively flat terrain. Paths can be rough (limestone and gravel). Climbing the pyramid is not permitted for anyone. 2.5 hours from Cancún.

Clifftop Mayan ruins overlooking the Caribbean. The main viewing area is accessible, and the ruins sit above a stunning beach. Paths are rough limestone. The beach below requires stairs. The view alone is worth the trip.
