LA: Hollywood Dreams, Beach Realities
LA is a sprawling, car-dependent city — but that actually works in favor of wheelchair travelers. With your own vehicle or ride-shares, everything is accessible because everything has parking. Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland (in nearby Anaheim), the Getty Center, Santa Monica Pier, and Venice Beach all have excellent wheelchair access. Santa Monica and Venice beaches offer free beach wheelchair programs. The expanding Metro system is fully accessible. LA's flat terrain (outside the Hollywood Hills) means most streets are manageable. The weather is nearly always perfect for outdoor travel.
Getting Around
Car / Ride-Share
LA is a car city. If you have an accessible vehicle, you're set — everything has parking including handicap spaces. Uber WAV and Lyft accessible vehicles are available throughout LA. This is the easiest way to get around.
Metro
LA Metro is fully accessible (all stations have elevators). The system is expanding rapidly. The B Line (Red) serves Hollywood and Universal Studios. The E Line reaches Santa Monica.

About 30 miles south in Anaheim. Disney's Disability Access Service (DAS) helps guests who cannot wait in conventional queues. Most rides accommodate wheelchairs or have transfer points. The parks are meticulously accessible. Book DAS in advance through the Disney app.

LA is flat and smooth in most areas — ADA compliance is strong. Hollywood Boulevard: Wide, smooth sidewalk (Walk of Fame stars are flat).
