Shanghai is China's most modern and most accessible major city. The metro system is one of the world's largest with elevators at most stations. The Bund waterfront promenade is wide, flat, and fully accessible with stunning views of the Pudong skyline. The French Concession has tree-lined streets with smooth sidewalks. Major attractions including the Shanghai Tower observation deck, Yu Garden (partially), and the Shanghai Museum are wheelchair accessible. Shanghai is generally flatter than Beijing with better sidewalk infrastructure. English is more commonly spoken in tourist areas than in Beijing.

Metro
